Start with a video link
Paste a YouTube link into the transcript tool. Select Get transcript. No extension is required. The server reads available captions in an anonymous background browser. Copy the text, download Markdown or open an AI chat. Saved transcripts stay in this browser.
If YouTube blocks the server request, use the optional extension while browsing YouTube.
Choose a file format
Use Markdown for notes and AI chats. Use TXT for plain text, SRT for timed subtitles, or JSON for structured data. All exports use the captured captions.
Understand Shorts and caption limits
Shorts capture uses the same video on its watch page. Captions must be available. A short video does not always have a transcript.
Work with an AI client
Copy a transcript into an AI chat, or connect a compatible desktop client through local MCP.
Try the transcript tool.
Try the real caption excerpt. Then paste your own video link.
